ATMs and Currency Exchange

Local currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (EC). EC is fixed 2.67 to 1 US Dollar. US dollars are also accepted throughout the island.

An ATM is available at the airport and ATMs are in the city of Roseau. There is not an ATM at Rosalie Bay Resort.

Climate

Average daytime temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24 to 29 degrees Celsius) with cooler temperatures in the mountains. Dry season is January to April and rainy season is July to October.

Clothing

Lightweight casual clothing is best throughout the year. Bring a sweater for cooler sea breezes in the evening. Walking shoes and rain jackets are recommended for rainforest hikes.

Driving

In Dominica, vehicles drive on the left side of the road. Rosalie Bay Resort's preferred rental agency is Quality Buy Car Rentals. Several other car rental companies are available on the island and at the airport. The cost of a drivers permit is EC$30.00/US$12.00

Entry Requirements

All visitors require a valid passport to visit Dominica. For residents of certain countries, an entry Visa is also required. Caricom Nationals may use a social security card for identification. For a current list of entry requirements visit www.discoverdominica.com.

Language

English is the official language. Creole (French patois) is largely spoken, but not taught in schools.
