Efforts at our eco resort

At Rosalie Bay Resort, we’re proud to be pioneers on Dominica when it comes to protecting the environment.

Energy is generated from solar panels and a 225 kW wind turbine, which is the first wind turbine on Dominica and the largest in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean. In fact, Rosalie Bay is one of only a handful of Caribbean resorts with its own wind turbine.

Our black sand beach is home to the first sea turtle protection effort on Dominica. Witness three species of endangered sea turtles nest and hatch on our shore between March and October.

Local and sustainable

Rosalie Bay Resort was built by hand by locals and continues to be a major source of employment for the local village. Additionally, talented artisans hand-carved sustainable wood into the intricate hardwood furniture found throughout our rooms, suites and offices.

Guests enjoy the fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables grown in our organic garden, which inspire the menu at Zamaan restaurant.

From LED lights to chairs made from recycled materials to sustainably-produced cotton towels and UV-filtered natural spring water, every detail at our eco resort puts the environment first and supports our Environmental Policy.
